Welcome to Hampshire Teaching and Leadership College

The role of Hampshire Teaching and Leadership College (HTLC) is to support the training and development of those who work with Children. We aim to provide high quality professional learning, which we consider to be the most powerful tool we have to raise standards and improve the quality of learning for our pupils.

What is Continuing professional development? (CPD)

‘CPD is relevant to all teachers. It is about making progress in the teaching profession — increasing the teachers' skills, knowledge and understanding as outlined in the professional standards for teachers.’ Teachernet

In progressing through their careers, all school staff benefit from numerous opportunities for continuing professional development - training and support that serve to increase skills, knowledge and understanding.

This site will provide details of training events, meetings and a variety of different information which we hope will help staff to further develop their skills. You may be looking to take advantage of the wide range of funding and opportunities available to complete training courses in specialist skills and knowledge relating to the delivery of your subject or another aspect of schooling - eg special educational needs.

Or you may take the chance to attend conferences and events that will allow you to meet and learn from other teachers and schools, adding their knowledge and experience to your own.
